Walking along the streets of this historically rich Southern Port City, you will hear stories of men and women whose lives are transitioned from slavery to freedom and it is their journey that transformed Beaufort to be like no other. This version of the city tour is intertwined with stories of Beaufort’s Antebellum and Civil War past forming stepping-stones that lead to new beginnings and brighter futures for once enslaved peoples, if only for a short time.
